The Institute of Customer Service of Nigeria is the independent, professional membership body for customer service operators.

Our main purpose is to lead customer service performance and professionalism. We are a membership body with a community of members – private, public and third sectors

The Institute of Customer Service of Nigeria as a professional body has trained several candidates who have distinguished themselves in effective and remarkable service delivery.

The overall objective of the Institute is to help small businesses, big institutions and agencies deliver consistently remarkable customer service to their clients.

Our Institute is governed by a board of professionals and works with other professional bodies and associations across the globe.

Our membership is open to both individuals and cooperate bodies involved in or who desire to offer effective and efficient customer service to their clients or prospective clients. Our trainings are designed towards equipping our members with adequate knowledge required in order to meet the ever changing needs of customers.

Beside training and certification we are also involved in consultancy, as we offer recruitment services to organizations and agencies.


  • To promote customer service as a profession and to improve the level of practitioners’ professionalism through assessment, accreditation and certification.
  • To provide people working directly or indirectly in customer service (public and private sectors) with the education and professional standards that will enable them to reach their full potentials in their chosen fields.
  • To improve knowledge of the components of customer service excellence through research, training and development programmes, publications, awards, conferences and customer focus groups.
  • To provide a voice for customer service professionals and enhance the status of these individuals and customer service issues via the media and public education fora.

Our Institute organizes an annual award to celebrate individuals and organizations who have distinguished themselves in the area of excellent customer service (Nigerian Service Excellence Awards).
